The C|EH Practical Exam challenges candidates to prove they can master the most important techniques, tools, and attack vectors learned in C|EH and at the same time, prove their abilities in dealing with real-life vulnerability assessments and ethical hacking scenarios. In the EC-Council C|EH (Practical) exam, the complex network of a large organization consisting of various network systems (including DMZ, Firewalls etc.) is replicated, and you as an ethical hacker, must discover and exploit vulnerabilities while also auditing the systems. No other certifications actually provide hands-on, real-time testing environments for ethical hacking. Some certifications (including those from respected brands) claim to provide hands-on learning but can’t provide the experiential learning and testing that prepares students for Ethical Hacking jobs. The validity period of the Aspen Dashboard access code is 3 months from the date of receipt.

3. What does the Dashboard include?

4. What kind of structure does the exam have?
The candidates are required to complete their pen-testing challenge on the iLabs environment. A set of 20 challenges is present in front of the students 70% is the minimum passing score for these challenges.
5. What is the duration of the exam?
The CEH (Practical) exam is a 6 hour session.
6. How much advanced notice is needed to book this exam session?

To book this exam session, candidates need to give at least 3 days advanced notice.
The exam sessions are proctored by EC-Council Certification department.

7. What are the important things candidates should keep in mind before scheduling their exam?

To proceed with the exam, the candidates must understand the following:

  • Grace period of 15 minutes to show up for the exam session is given to the candidates.
  • Cancellation requests are acceptable only if made 24 hours in advance.
  • Rescheduling of exam can be done only 72 hours prior to the exam session.
  • In case of 3 no-show cases, the candidate needs to seek special permission from the Director – Certification to continue with his/her attempt.
8. Is it possible to retake the exam?
Retake exam requests can only be purchased by writing to Practicals@eccouncil.org, should a candidate fail the exam.
9. Is the CEH (Practical) a part of the EC-Council Continuing Education Scheme?
Yes, the CEH (Practical) is a part of the EC-Council Continuing Education Scheme.
